Hollow-core fiber with anti-resonant arches is designed and made of chalcogenide glass As2S3. The thickness and spacing between the arches are selected respectively to minimize the fiber transmission loss <0.1dB/m for CO2 laser between 9 to 11 micron, CO laser around 5 micron or Er:YAG laser around 3 micron.

Patented Polarization Maintaining Photonic Crystal Fiber (pre-commercialize stage)

IRflex’s innovative mid-infrared polarization-maintaining photonic crystal fiber (PM-PCF) is made of chalcogenide glass.

With complex asymmetric orthogonal patterns of longitudinal holes, IRflex’s PM-PCF has different periods and diameters to create high birefringence. It preserves the launched light polarization state as it propagates through the fiber, which offers endlessly single mode in the mid-infrared (2 to 6µm) with good circular beam quality and low loss.

The PM-PCF preform is made by extrusion and is used to draw the mid-infrared PM-PCF.
