The TLX80 is a reflective beam expander for applications in optical communications, lasers, quantum technologies, and science and research. It combines high optical performance with attractive delivery times and investment costs. Its modular design makes it available over a wide wavelength range from visual to infrared with various system magnifications.
This all-metal thermal infrared freeform telescope for earth observation was developed in a joint cooperation between Fraunhofer EMI, Fraunhofer IOF, ConstellR GmbH, and SPACEOPTIX GmbH and supported by the initiative Digital Innovation Hub Photonics (DIHP). It has been successfully launched to ISS in February 2022.
This off-axis aspherical primary mirror has a large aperture above 300mm and is part of an all-metal telescope for a multiple optical receive system for laser communication purposes. The opto-mechanical design is based on NiP plated metal mirrors as well as high precision mechanical structures. A high lightweighting of the mirror's backside reduces the overal weight to less than 5kg.
